Our Story
In 1964 Frank Hoenigmann and Kent Warner founded Warner & Hoenigmann, a material handling business that was later renamed W&H Systems, reflecting the company’s evolution and growth.
Half-century later, in December 2015, Dearborn Mid-West Company’s material handling division acquired W&H Systems and rebranded the organization to DMW&H.
DMW&H continues to design, integrate, install, and support automated material handling systems, specializing in the wine and spirits, retail, food and beverage, and post and parcel industries. Leveraging their indaGO software, DMW&H provides state-of-the-art solutions that optimize automated operations for their Customers.

Management Team
Ray Haggar
President
Ray has over 25 years in the material handling industry with expertise in leadership in engineering, finance, project management, and sales. As an innovative problem solver with excellent judgment, communication and team building skills, Ray’s focus is on providing clients integrated solutions that are delivered on time, on budget, and exceed all expectations. Prior to joining DMW&H, Ray worked as Chief Operation Officer and Vice President at Beumer Corporation. During his tenure at Beumer, Ray led the transformation of their business from a sales office to a fully functional project implementation organization with project management, engineering, procurement, site integration, and quality/safety departments to better meet the needs of the U.S. market. Prior to Beumer, Ray worked at AL Systems and at W&H Systems. Ray holds an MBA in management from Fairleigh Dickinson University, a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, and has completed the Finance and Accounting Executive Program at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
Brian McCarthy
Controller
Brian McCarthy, Controller for DMW&H, brings over 16 years of experience in accounting and finance, with a strong focus on project and cost accounting. Throughout his career, he has made notable contributions across various industries, including a 15-year tenure in the oil and gas sector. During this time, Brian provided financial support for large-scale, billion-dollar global projects. Recently, he transitioned to the fashion apparel industry, where he was instrumental in aligning financial operations with a SaaS business model.
Brian is known for his ability to optimize financial support for business operations, especially in areas such as cash flow management and profit and loss oversight. His approach is centered on fostering close collaboration between finance and business operations, ensuring smooth communication and alignment with financial objectives. By prioritizing both internal goals and client needs, Brian consistently drives the success of the projects he oversees.
Brian holds a degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an MBA with a double major in Finance and Accounting from Seton Hall University’s Stillman School of Business. He was recognized with the prestigious Student of Excellence Award in Accounting, an honor given to one student who exemplifies the academic and professional values of the university.
Melissa Tucker
HR Manager
Melissa Tucker serves as DMW&H’s HR Manager, bringing over 25 years of HR experience to the team. Melissa is responsible for partnering with executive leadership to ensure that DMW&H HR policy and procedure align to business objectives to recruit the right talent, enhance staff performance, and support employee development. In the past, she has worked in the healthcare and technology industry for both multibillion-dollar global leaders and small/entrepreneurial companies. Her experience has made her a knowledgeable resource and partner with each level of the organization. Melissa graduated from Brandeis University, holds a Professional in Human Resources certification, and is a member of Society of Human Resource Management.
Tom Obregon
VP of Professional Services Group, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity
Tom Obregon graduated from Columbia University Engineering School with dual degrees. He has been developing and maintaining integrated computerized solutions in the material handling industry for approximately 20 years. He has performed a multitude of roles in the Controls, Software Development, and Infrastructure departments. He has worked as an engineer, developer, and manager. His current position as Director of PSG involves overseeing the daily operation of four customer support departments: Technical Support of computer systems, Field Maintenance of mechanical equipment, Parts Sales of all system components, and Security/Infrastructure design and deployment. Tom has developed systems for clients in multiple industries, including major retailers, specialty retailers, wine & spirits distributors, manufacturers, direct to consumer, and 3PLs. Prior to coming to DMW&H, Tom served as the VP of Engineering at a converting industry system integrator for 5 years.
Francis Said
VP of Integration and Engineering
Francis Said has 30 years of experience within the Material Handling Industry, specifically in the software, controls, and integration fields. He is currently the Vice President of Integration and Engineering at DMW&H where he ensures that all systems are built to the leading industry standards. He does so by establishing and following processes that ensure system repeatability, high quality, consistency of engineered systems, state of the art devices, and accurate drawings. Francis’s extensive knowledge of the material handling industry matched with his expertise in leadership and software/controls integration will help shape those areas of DMW&H’s business for the next phase of growth.
Prior to joining DMW&H, Francis served as the Senior Director of Integration Management at Swisslog building the controls team from scratch and putting together the roots for system integration. Before that, Francis built his company Advanced Software Design, Inc. which specialized in the software and controls development, and integration in the material handling fields. This followed his initial start at Mathews Conveyor and Lafayette Engineering as a Software Engineer developing and integrating material handling systems. Francis has a BS in Computer Science, Math, and Computer Electronics from Eastern Kentucky University.
Jim McLafferty
VP Sales, Marketing & Solutions Development
Jim McLafferty has over 25+ years of experience in the material handling industry in sales, engineering, management, and business development roles. Jim brings to the DMW&H team industry knowledge of the warehousing and distribution sectors, along with the ability to build lasting partnerships with clients by delivering cost effective, high quality, systems integration services. Jim is a thought leader in postal deliveries and parcel shipments, and the equipment and systems needed within a warehouse or distribution center to facilitate package deliveries. Prior to joining DMW&H, Jim was a principal owner for 12 years at a leading consulting and engineering firm that delivered services to material handling system providers and end users. He holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo and an MBA in Strategic Management from Rutgers University.
Paul Laman
VP
After more than 33 years with the company, Paul has extensive experience and expertise in warehouse automation technology, with a focus on wholesale wine and spirits, and food. In fact, he is regarded as the authority in wine and spirits due to his extremely high level of understanding, experience, and implementations in that industry. He has also worked in systems engineering, project management, and sales. Paul is regularly sought by industry professionals and media sources including Modern Materials Handling, Material Handling and Logistics, Supply and Demand Chain Executive, Beverage Industry, and DC Velocity. Paul was named a Supply and Demand Chain Executive Provider Pro to Know in 2013, and received the Food Logistics magazine’s Champion award in 2016. Paul has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
