Summary:
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of goods, services, and information within the DMW&H supply chain. They play a key role in organizing and coordinating logistics operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of products, and managing relationships with suppliers, customers, and transportation providers. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure efficient operations and smooth delivery processes. Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex.
Reports to: Purchasing Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or higher preferred
- 2-3 years freight coordinating/supply chain experience
- Knowledge of international shipments/incoterms; working with Customs, Harmonized Codes, Tariffs, Taxes and Duties
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP knowledge a plus
- Strict adherence to meet corporate deadlines and critical orders on time

Responsibilities
- Seek cost effective shipping vendor options and select the best option based on company needs
- Manage all scheduled shipments with external carriers & Freight Brokers to coordinate delivery of all shipments
- Ensure all carriers have the proper insurance and carriers are compliant with company requirements
- Work together with DMW&H S&R Manager with incoming and outgoing freight
- Manage all international shipments with DMW&H Customs Broker to ensure all correct Harmonized Codes, Takes, and Duties are being applied
- Track shipments to ensure that all drop ship purchase orders were received
- Maintain constant communication with vendors and brokers/carriers while deliveries are in route
- Manage all issues related to vendor service such as delivery delays and invoicing issues that could delay critical shipments
- Notify internal teams if a critical delivery is going to be late
- Create and distribute daily shipping report to internal teams
- Create and distribute daily expedite report to internal teams
- Keep records of all shipping documents to confirm accuracy of quotes and receive and approve freight bills for AP
- Initiate and monitor all claims or lost or damaged shipments with Brokers
- Manage all updates on customer deliveries, administering returns or credits
- May be assigned to special projects or required to perform other duties not listed above, which may vary from time to time as determined by management, to meet company needs.
