Service Technician

Summary:  Provide on-site maintenance service to DMW&H customers.  This includes repair of conveyor systems using hand power tools and diagnosing electrical and/or electronic problems.

Reports to:  Manager Facility Support Services

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and written
  • Valid driver license
  • Ability to work irregular hours as needed
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical
  • Ability to work within an operating facility with the requirement to practice, train others, and uphold safety standards and requirement of industry, OSHA, DMW&H, and Customer
  • Knowledge of industrial maintenance practices
  • Experience with conveyor or other equipment maintenance and repair
  • Experience with proper selection and use of power and hand tools
  • Good phone and in person communication skills, able to use email, text, and other electronic communication devices
  • Able to complete OSHA training and follow all safety guidelines
  • Experience with industrial equipment maintenance including pneumatic and hydraulic equipment repair and service – a plus
  • Millwright experience preferred, including onsite welding and fabrication – a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Installation & repair of conveyor belts of all kinds (includes lacing)
  • Tracking of conveyor belts of all kinds
  • Replacing power & idler rollers, pulleys, and bearings (includes drive chains)
  • Replacing gearboxes and motors.
  • Replacing & aligning sprockets
  • Ability to conduct and document system audits
  • Ability to evaluate safety equipment (such as guards and rails) to determine proper installation and functionality
  • Ability to evaluate conveyor transport to confirm proper functionality
  • Ability to evaluate proper lubrication
  • Ability to evaluate and confirm that all pneumatic & hydraulic equipment is functioning properly
  • Submit time sheet & expenses accurately and on time
  • Advise customer and internal DMW&H personnel of options and new parts sales.
  • Submit written specifications and reports for audits, repairs, and parts
  • Properly maintain company vehicle
  • May be assigned to special projects or required to perform other duties not listed above, which may vary from time to time as determined by management, to meet company needs.

Specialized Capabilities

  • Electrical troubleshooting and electrical component replacement
  • Ability to install and configure VFD parameters (new and existing)
  • Ability to install electrical components such as motor starters, circuit breakers and e-stops
  • Ability to troubleshoot, adjust and replace Photo Eye & Proximity Sensors
